Льыоравэтльан - 6th session of UNPFII

From 14 to 25 May in New York the 6th session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues was taking place. The main theme of the session was the issue of rights of indigenous peoples on territories, lands and natural resources.
Besides, such issues as economical and social development, environment, education, culture, health and human rights, directly connected with life of indigenous peoples, were also discussed.

We express our big gratitude to the UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Populations for the given possibility of two LIENIP representatives to participate in the session and present there the information about the problems of indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation.
The statements were presented on the following items:

by Evgenia Shustova – The problems of organizing study of native languages for indigenous peoples in the system of education of the Russian Federation.
