Meeting of Members of the Youth Coordinating Committee in Petrozavodsk

The meeting of the Youth Coordinating Committee took place in the Ministry of the Republic of Karelia on National Politics and Relations with Religious Associations on 12 November, 2009. The meeting was aimed at activization of the Committee’s activities, work scheduling at the end of the current year and acquaintance with new members of the Committee. Leaders and members of youth public organizations of Petrozavodsk and the republic took part in the meeting. Andrey A. Manin, minister of the Republic of Karelia on National Politics and Relations with Religious Associations, opened the meeting. The Youth Coordinating Committee under the Ministry is established to form effective system of interaction between youth leaders of national public associations undertaking activities in the field of intercultural dialogue.
The Youth Committee consists of representatives of 19 organizations. In 2009 the Youth Committee members participated in various events, projects and programs aimed at building up intercultural dialogue, prevention of extremism, development of spirituality and morality. During the meeting they summarized the results of the work over last period and discussed work schedules till the end of the year. Representatives of different organizations informed of their activities, represented their projects, theoretical and practical conferences and seminars arranged for November – December of the current year and invited partners to participate in their events.
