The Universal Declaration of Human Rights Went into the Guinness Book Once Again

Indigenous IssuesThe Universal Declaration of Human Rights has broken its own record. Ten years ago this international document was available in 298 languages and went into the Guinness Book.
Today the Declaration is translated into 370 languages - from Abkhaz to Zulu. Moreover, the last translations were made into languages spoken in Russia: Karelian, Nenets, Tuvinian, Khakass, Yakut, etc.
Translation of the Declaration into indigenous languages of Russia was supported by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. They consider this step as an opportunity to save languages of such small-numbered peoples as the Evenks from extinction.
